Now available for FREE: Bucky O’Hare in “Oneness”

The day has arrived!

I hope you’re prepared for another free comic!

I invite you all to take your first spin on the frigate Righteous Indignation for the first time in 20 years as I unleash a brand new FREE short comic featuring Bucky O’Hare.

Click here or on the cover image to check out the seven-page short “Oneness.”

My partner is crime for this short was Loch Ness, a lifelong Bucky fan who jumped at the chance to bring these characters to… to life.

His passion for the characters, world and story translated beautifully to the page and I couldn’t be more proud of what we created based on the characters originally created by writer Larry Hama and artist Michael Golden.

We had such a blast putting this comic together, and I hope you enjoy the 90s nostalgic tingles you get from reading it. Hit us up on social media and let us know what you thought. Most importantly of all, if you like it, consider sharing it with your friends and let’s spread some joy on this Throwback Thursday.

Thanks for checking it out!

If you like the Bucky comic, be sure to check out another free comic Loch Ness and I did last year, called Turbo Tunnel Trouble based on the 90s video game property, Battletoads.

New FREE comic coming Thursday!

Hey — I didn’t die.

(Sorry guy who bullied me from fourth grade through eighth grade.)

No, in fact I’ve been hard at work creating some awesome new comics that I’m extremely proud of!

And on Thursday of this week I’ll be unleashing a brand new short comic for FREE right here on the website.

Artist Loch Ness, who I teamed with for the free Battletoads: Turbo Tunnel Trouble short we released last year, have been hard at work on a new four-issue miniseries called Bug Slugger XL (more on that later) and we took a short break after completing issue one to put together a short comic featuring one of our favorite early 90s TV show/comic book/videos game properties. The response to Battletoads was just too awesome for us not to tackle another fan-favorite IP.

That’s right, folks… this time we tackled the green, space-faring rabbit, Bucky O’Hare.

Created by Larry Hama and Michael Golden, we’re taking Bucky and his anthropomorphic crew for a ride on the Righteous Indignation in a seven-page short comic.

Don’t miss out on this one. It gets crazy.

See you Thursday.

Interview: The Gravy Age Podcast

It was a busy last few weeks!

A few days after stopping by the Vodka O’Clock podcast I also appeared on The Gravy Age Podcast where I chatted with my pal Kris about my silly new comic book Hipsters Vs. Rednecks!

We also got into some discussion about the past, present and future of digital comics, how everyone on the internet is mad about something new each week and writing humor while not potentially offending readers.

I appreciate Kris taking time out of his busy schedule to chat with my about the comic and I hope you’ll give our conversation a listen.

Kris was also kind enough to review the one-shot comic where he said, “For a book I was worried couldn’t sustain itself based on the concept initially, my biggest and only real complaint is, it’s over too soon.”

Listen to the show online by clicking here (interview starts around the halfway mark) or you can subscribe to the podcast on iTunes or Stitcher Radio.

Interview: Vodka O’Clock Podcast

I recently returned to the Vodka O’Clock podcast to chat with host Amber Love about my comic Hipsters Vs. Rednecks, which she was nice enough to read, enjoy and suggest we talk about. It was my third or fourth visit to the show and as always, a great time was had. Here’s hoping I don’t wear out my welcome!

As happens when I chat with Amber, the conversation took a turn as we explored other nerdery including Star Wars, comic book conventions, cats and the current state off the comic book industry.

Want to take me on your commute? You can listen to the interview online by clicking here, or you can subscribe to the Vodka O’Clock podcast on iTunes or Stitcher Radio. Amber also has a Patreon page to support the production and maintenance of her wonderful show that helps shine the spotlight on writers, artists and creators, so if you don’t mind tossing her a few dollars to keep the show going I know she’d appreciate it (and so would I).

CreativeCon tomorrow!

For those in and around Northwest Florida, I’ll be appearing at the 2015 installment of the Panama City CreativeCon tomorrow (Saturday, Aug. 1), happening in (say it with me) Panama City, FL!

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. ET at Gulf Coast State College in the student union building. Tickets and more info are available online at pccreativecon.com

The convention, founded by the ever-talented writer/artist/dancer(?)  Jayson Kretzer, doesn’t limit itself to just comic books, but instead embraces every form of creativity from comics, to art, to writing, costume creation and more.

But don’t just come out for me! Also in attendance will be the talented colorist K. Michael Russell, writers Tony Simmons, Michael Lister and Chris Arrant and artist Rando Dixon of Inverse Press (a great group of people).

This is the first show at which I’ll be selling all four issues of Unit 44 in printed issue format! Very excited for that. I’ve sold many copies of #1 and #2 in the area and here’s hoping people actually want to finish the story.

I’ll also be packing copies of The Undoubtables graphic novel, The Temporal one-shot, my humor book Musings on Minutiae and very, very, veeeeeeeery limited quantities of the Chambers collected edition.

See you there, yeah?
