I’m Wes Locher (pronounced “Low-Curr” by non-telemarketers).
I’ve written comic books for myriad publishers including UNIT 44 (Alterna Comics, 2022), THE OBSOLETES (Silverline Comics, 2022), BUG SLUGGER (Primary Target Press, 2020), AWRY (Action Lab Entertainment, 2019), ADRIFT (Titan Comics, 2015), THE UNDOUBTABLES (Markosia Enterprises, 2014), CHAMBERS (Arcana Comics, 2013), HIPSTERS VS. REDNECKS, EDISON, THE TEMPORAL, MAINTENANCE (Primary Target Press, 2015-2017), and have contributed short comics to anthologies too countless to name.
I’ve written and contributed to video games such as the smash hit mobile game PROJECT MAKEOVER (Magic Tavern, 2020), CRADLE OF EMPIRES, (Awem Games, 2019), SERIOUS WEIRDNESS and TRUCHANGE (FableLabs, 2018), POST-WAR DREAMS (PulseTense Games, 2019), RE*SEQUENCED (Based on the Play, 2018), LOST IN FAME (Nanobit Software, 2017), and FUTURE: UNCERTAIN (Pocket Gems Games, 2015), as well as served as a content director for the Pocket Gems games CLUELESS: SCHOOL’S OUT (based on the movie, licensed by Paramount Pictures), PRETTY LITTLE LIARS (based on the hit TV show/licensed by Warner Brothers), MEAN GIRLS: SORORITY RUSH and MEAN GIRLS: SENIOR YEAR (based on the 2004 movie/licensed by Paramount) through the company’s app, EPISODE (iOS/Android).
I’ve written books including a collection of humorous essays, MUSINGS ON MINUTIAE (2010), and the nonfiction works of video games journalism, BRAVING BRITANNIA: TALES OF LIFE, LOVE, & ADVENTURE IN ULTIMA ONLINE (2018), and BRAVING BRITANNIA: TALES OF MELANCHOLY, MALICE, & PERIL IN ULTIMA ONLINE (2020) which have been featured by Wired, Gamasutra, VentureBeat, and the TED Talks podcast Far Flung. In 2021, I published the first two titles in my “tiny books” series: NETWORKING: WHAT IS IT, HOW DO YOU DO IT, AND WHY IS IT SO SCARY? and GAME WRITING: WHAT IT IS, WHAT IT ISN’T, AND HOW TO GET STARTED.
