Free Comic Book Day 2014

Each year since 2002, the first Saturday in May is also known as FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!

In an effort to thank current readers and draw in new ones, publishers big and small give out thousands of comics at shops across the world to show what this amazing medium is capable of. Whether readers are into superheroes, cartoons or fun indie books, there’s always something for everyone.

To further support the comic industry, many shops welcome creators, both big and small, to their shops for signings, commissions and meet and greets. I was lucky enough to have been invited to spend Free Comic Book Day with the fine folks at Arena Comics and Gaming in Panama City, FL.

I’ll be joining several other creators to celebrate the event and I’ll be selling copies of the CHAMBERS trade paperback as well as the first issue of UNIT 44! A little something for everyone!

If you’re in the area, come say hello this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Central Time. Grab some free comics, take advantage of the store specials, and meet some folks who work hard to create the funny books.

Signed Chambers Trades!

Over the weekend I celebrated a birthday that was complimented by the delivery of a box of CHAMBERS trade paperbacks!

To celebrate the release of the collected edition, I decided to offer up a SUPER limited number of these trades to the public. If you’re interested in picking up a signed copy of the 100+ page trade paperback, this is the only way to do it! They’ll come directly to you, from me, with love. There are still a few copies remaining, and you can click here to grab one from my web store.

What’s Chambers all about?
Narcotics Officer Denise Chambers comes from a family of law enforcers. Now, someone is picking them off one by one, and she’ll have to figure out who’s taking an axe to her family tree before it’s too late.

The crime-fiction graphic novel collects Chambers issues #1-4, originally published 2013 by Arcana Studio. The book is “Rated R” and suggested for readers ages 17+.

Story & Letters: Wes Locher
Art: Kristian Rossi
Colors: Kefas Armando

Thanks for all of your support! Funds from these sales will go directly toward creating something new that I know you’ll dig.

10 reasons to pick up the Chambers TPB

As you may have heard, this Wednesday, March 26, my crime comic CHAMBERS will be released in trade paperback from Arcana Studio.

Chambers is the 4-issue crime-fiction miniseries that was released September through December of last year and this 100+ page collection puts all for issues under one cover. In addition to my words, the art was brought to life by the wonderful and professional Kristian Rossi with colors by Kefas Armando.

You can order the collection from your local comic shop or purchase it online. Heck, you can even pre-order it by clicking here and it will be at your home in a matter of days!

Since everyone on the internet likes a good list, I thought I’d list out 10 reasons why you should consider purchasing the book and thereby help support my writing career.

Chambers Trade Paperback Pre-Order: Last Call

We’re so close!

A week from today the trade paperback (print edition) of my crime-fiction comic CHAMBERS will be released!

There’s still time to pre-order from publisher Arcana Studio and the beautiful 100+ page collection will be shipped to your door upon release on March 26.

As this is my first trade collection that I’m not paying to print, so obviously I’m very excited. If you haven’t read the book, this will be the best way to do it. Along with artist Kristian Rossi and colorist Kefas Armando, I crafted a gut-wrenching tale of dirty cops and bloody revenge. If you’re a fan of noir or gritty stories based in the real world, then this comic will be right up your alley.

Do you like the movie Die Hard?
Trick question! Who doesn’t like Die Hard?
Loved that? You’ll dig this.

If digital is more your speed then you can currently pick up the individual issues or the collected edition from ComiXology for $1.99 or $5.99, respectively.

Click the image below to head to the order page. Just $19 will get you the book and will help support my writing career. Go ahead… encourage me. I dare you.

Interview: Vodka O’Clock Podcast

A few weeks ago I was a guest on the Vodka O’Clock podcast where I chatted with host Amber Love about the character relationships of my crime-fiction comic book CHAMBERS, the process of collaborating with a zillion different artists on my sci-fi webcomic INNOVATION and the trials and tribulations that came along with Kickstarting my upcoming sci-fi/comedy comic, UNIT 44.

The episode is now online, and if you’d like to spend an hour listening to me talk about the genesis of those projects, explain how I linked up with my collaborators or if you’d just like to relax to the dulcet tones of my voice while on your morning commute, you can download the podcast from iTunes or Stitcher radio.
